Home Harvest is an inclusive design concept that tackles aging population issues in the UK by providing a mutually beneficial service for schools, the elderly, and supermarkets. Marks and Spencer in England have a growing organic produce market and with current media and ecological attention being focused towards providing locally grown produce, this concept enables retired members of the community to put their green fingered skills to use on rejuvenated inner city allotments.

M&S benefit from their new produce section “Home Harvest – grown in Grandad’s back garden“, the elderly benefit through social well-being, a sense of purpose and store discount cards, and children benefit through learning how to harvest crops…valuable life skills for future generations when local produce may become our only source of nutrition.
